I am thrilled to start my fourth year with the middle school science team at PCK! I have prior experience teaching science at the high school level as well as working with elementary and middle school students as a tutor and teacher's aide.
I look forward to sharing my love for science (and learning!) with students. I received my Bachelor's degree from Rockhurst University and my Master's degrees from University of Virginia and College of Saint Mary. I especially love applying my science knowledge to "real life" topics, such as biomedical and forensic science.
I can't wait to explore the new school year! I'm excited to get to know my students and their families this year!
I'm thrilled to be in my second year of teaching science at PCK, bringing a total of seven years of experience in science education.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in hands-on, inquiry-based learning—because science isn't just a subject, it's the lens through which we understand the world around us. I believe students thrive when they’re challenged, and I hold high expectations because I know every one of them is capable of incredible growth.
Outside the classroom, I live on a small hobby farm with alpacas, goats, chickens, a potbelly pig, a dog, a few barn cats—and my wonderful husband! Our two grown children have already "flown the coop." Science is alive and well in my everyday "farm" life, whether I’m baking bread, making cheese, working in the garden, or simply observing the beauty around me. Whether it’s on the homestead or in the classroom, I’m always exploring how things work and sharing that curiosity with my students.
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!
